    Christmas Day is celebrated on 25th December each year. In Ireland, it’s a public holiday when most shops and businesses close so families can enjoy the day together.

    Our stores will open for extended hours in the run-up to Christmas, closing at 6pm on Christmas Eve and remaining closed on Christmas Day and St. Stephen’s Day. See the full Christmas Opening Hours 2025 for details.

    Lidl Ireland doesn’t currently offer online shopping or home delivery. However, you can browse our Christmas ranges online to plan your shopping before visiting your nearest store.

    We don’t offer pre-orders for Christmas dinner essentials, but this year you can Click, Reserve & Collect your Christmas turkey online. A wide range of fresh hams, sides, and festive foods will also be available in stores in the run-up to Christmas. Shop early for the best selection!

    We offer a variety of real and artificial Christmas trees, along with tree stands, lights, and decorations. Availability may vary by store, so check your local store for this year’s range.

    No. Under Irish licensing laws, alcohol sales are not permitted on Christmas Day. You can purchase wine, beer, and spirits from Lidl up to Christmas Eve, during normal licensed hours.

    Most people put up Christmas decorations in late November or early December. Traditionally, they’re taken down on January 6th (Little Christmas or Epiphany) — marking the official end of the festive season.
