    What is linen?

Linen is a durable natural fibre derived from the flax plant. Unlike many other natural fabrics, linen is excellent at wicking away moisture, keeping you cool and allowing your skin to breathe. This makes linen the perfect summer material – ideal for bed linen, airy trousers or casual shirts. This relaxed character is also reflected in its unique surface texture, which gives linen its distinctive look.

Linen Outfits: What you need to know

Summer linen outfits are all about effortless style. The breathable fabric drapes your silhouette without being clingy. Flowing blouses or dresses, wide-leg trousers and relaxed-fit shirts or other tops work perfectly. To get the most out of linen's power against heat and sweat, long sleeves and full-length trousers are ideal. For a relaxed look, you can roll up the sleeves or hems and enjoy that natural cooling effect!

Styling linen looks: bring on the summer colours!

Linen fibres absorb colour in a unique way, giving the fabric a beautifully natural finish. This even works with classic non-summer colours like black. However, linen looks its best in light shades from cream to yellow. These lighter colours also help to keep you cool in the sun. When it comes to accessories and shoes, the more summery the better. Straw bags and hats, sandals or canvas slippers – the main thing is to keep it breezy!

How to wash and care for linen: Gentle is best

Linen is very durable, but it should still be cared for gently. Opt for low temperatures, a delicate wash cycle and a low spin speed (max 600 rpm). Leave plenty of space in the drum and use a liquid detergent for delicates, but no fabric softener. To prevent your linen from wrinkling too much, you can iron the fabric while it is still damp. Alternatively, hang the garment on a hanger to dry. The tumble dryer is a definite no-go!
