Your Lidl Connect subscription starts after you have completed checkout. Your service is active once you have activated your SIM.
If you are bringing your number with you, the subscription will start after the porting process is completed. You will receive an email confirming once you are fully active.
You can install your eSIM anytime, but your plan starts as soon as you complete the purchase.
You can install your eSIM immediately after purchase, even if number transfer is still in progress. However, service becomes active only when both are complete:
eSIM is installed
Number transfer is finished.
Absolutely! You can switch to Lidl Connect and keep your existing mobile number. Please note that only Irish numbers can be moved to our Irish Lidl Connect offer.
You can switch to Lidl Connect and keep your existing mobile number at no cost.
When you request number portability, Lidl Connect will lead the switching process and coordinate with your current provider. Your existing service will remain active until your number is transferred, and your previous contract will end once the switching process is completed.
You may still be subject to any early termination charges from your previous provider, depending on your contract with them. Please check with them if you are unsure.
No, you don’t need to contact your current provider to move your number. Just provide us with the required details, and we’ll handle the transfer for you.
Important to know:
Your current plan must be active and paid for the number to be transferred
Your provider may charge early cancellation fees if you are in a contract
Check for any device payments, bundle plans, or discounts that could be affected
If you have questions about charges or refunds, please contact your previous provider directly.
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
Your phone is unlocked
Your current SIM is still active and can receive an SMS with a security code
Your account number (only needed if you have a bill‑pay plan)
Your contacts are saved to your phone, not just on your SIM. If your contacts are only saved on your current SIM card, you may lose them when you remove the SIM. Be sure to save them to your phone first.
To use your Lidl Connect service after switching, your device must be compatible and must not be locked to another provider’s network. If your device is locked, you may need to request an unlock code from your previous provider before switching.
If you’re not receiving the SMS, it may be because your current SIM is no longer active. Your phone number must be active to receive the security code. If your SIM has stopped working, please contact your current provider to reactivate it or check your account.
This step is necessary to confirm ownership of the number being moved.
You can usually find your account number on your bill or by logging into your provider's app. Please contact your current provider if you cannot find it. We only require the account number if you want to transfer a postpaid number.
Provider-Specific Examples:
Vodafone: on the bill or in the My Vodafone app
Tesco Mobile: the number after ""CONTR"" on the bill - use only the digits, not the letters
Virgin Media: on the bill
GoMo: on the bill
Eir: on the bill
Three: on the bill or in your Three app.
Number transfers are carried out on the agreed date.
Immediate porting is typically completed within the same day during porting hours.
You may also choose to schedule your switch up to 30 days in advance.
We will keep you informed of the progress of your switch and notify you once your number has been successfully transferred. We will endeavour to work with your previous provider to ensure that you will not be without service for more than one working day.
Yes, you can schedule your number transfer up to 30 days in advance. This lets you pick a date that suits you best and plan your switch with ease.
We aim to minimise any disruption during the switching process. In most cases, any loss of service will be brief and limited to the final stage of the number transfer.
You will receive a notification in your Lidl Plus app once the number transfer has completed. Pay close attention to the on-screen instructions.
You can reschedule your number transfer directly in the Lidl Plus app, depending on the current status. The Lidl Connect app shows a “Reschedule” option.
If your number transfer is currently being processed or already completed, a change of date is no longer possible.

Yes, you are free to keep your number and transfer it to a new provider. Just request the transfer with your new provider who will handle the process for you. Make sure your Lidl Connect number is still active and can receive a security code to verify your ownership.
You have the right to:
Keep your mobile number when switching providers.
Experience minimal disruption to your service.
Be informed about the progress of your switch.

Closing your account once the switch is complete
If you have questions about charges or refunds, you should contact your previous provider directly.
You may be entitled to compensation if something goes wrong during the switching process. This includes situations such as:

Delays in terminating your previous service
Failure to keep you informed about the switching process
Compensation will be assessed based on the circumstances of your case and in line with
applicable regulatory requirements. Please see our Switching/Porting Compensation Policy here.

If your complaint is not resolved, you may refer the matter to the Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg). Further information is available at: https://www.comreg.ie.
Lidl Connect is a simple prepaid SIM only plan. Just subscribe on the Lidl Plus app and when it gets to the payment section, enter your debit or credit card details. Your monthly payment will automatically renew each month. You can cancel any time with no additional fees.
You can use your credit or debit card for Lidl Pay. We will guide you through the setup steps during your Lidl Connect registration.
100 minutes per month to EU, EEA, Ukraine, Brazil, Canada, China, India, New Zealand, Australia and US are included in your plan and will not appear as extra charges on your invoice. Any attempt to call international numbers outside of these countries or regions will simply not work.
You can use Lidl Pay to pay for your Lidl Connect subscription and in any of our Lidl stores. We currently do not provide mobile payment for other uses.
This is not supported. Lidl Connect is a simple prepaid subscription service.
We will try to take your payment 5 days before your renewal date. This gives us time to retry if a payment doesn’t go through, so your service isn’t interrupted.
During this 5-day period:
Your plan stays fully active
You are still within your paid billing period
All services continue as normal
Changing the date is not available right now.
If a payment fails, we will notify you in the Lidl Plus app so you can update your payment method. We will also try to take the payment again before your monthly renewal date.
If we don’t receive payment by the renewal date, your plan will not renew. You will still be able to receive calls and texts for 30 days, but you won’t be able to make calls, send texts, or use data during this time.
Your monthly invoice is created on your renewal date and will be available in your Lidl Plus app under Lidl Connect.
The Lidl Plus app is the only place where you can subscribe, manage and cancel your Lidl Connect plan(s). If someone else has added you as a multi-line subscription on their Lidl Plus app, then you do not necessarily need the Lidl Plus app yourself. You need to manage your subscription through them.
We offer you an app tour that will be offered to you automatically after installation. Here are the most important steps.
You can also access this after the first use via the app menu. If you have any further questions about the app, our customer service is of course at your disposal: +353 1 9203010.
Yes, please proceed as follows: Hold down the home screen, then edit (top left) and then add widget. There are now three variants (sizes) to choose from.
With the Lidl Plus app, you can keep track of everything at a glance. Your subscriptions, renewal dates, invoices, remaining roaming data allowance are all displayed in a concise format. You can also enjoy the other benefits of Lidl Plus. You do not need a separate Lidl Connect app. It's all there in one app.
Yes. You can have up to four Lidl Connect lines in total under a single main account using the Lidl Plus app. Please note that each Lidl Connect line has its own independent subscription with its own contract and phone number.
You can add up to three additional lines, for a total of four Lidl Connect lines on one account (one main line and up to three extra lines).
No. It is not possible to use the same phone number across multiple SIM cards or devices.
Instead, each SIM card (physical or eSIM) has its own independent subscription with its assigned phone number and billing cycle.
All lines are managed centrally by the main account holder through the Lidl Plus app. Additional lines do not have their own Lidl Plus login, but once you are 18+, you can download and register for Lidl Plus yourself and enjoy the other benefits within. The existing Lidl Connect subscriptions though will only be visible on the Lidl Plus account that they were originally set up on.
Yes. Each Lidl Connect line has its own unique phone number, whether it uses an eSIM or a physical SIM.
Yes. You can cancel any additional line at any time via the Lidl Plus app. The cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, with no cancellation fees.
Yes. The person using the additional line does not need access to the Lidl Plus app. They can use the SIM normally for calls, SMS, and data, while you manage the subscription and settings in the app.
While roaming, each line gets its own roaming data allowance of 50 GB per month. Please be aware that roaming is intended for temporary travel. Extended roaming may be subject to review.
You can’t set separate roaming data limits for each line. However, don’t worry, there are built-in safeguards:
You’ll get alerts when a line reaches 80% and 100% of its international data allowance.
Once the limit is reached, data usage will automatically stop.
No extra charges will apply beyond that limit.
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that is loaded directly into your phone. Just bring a compatible device and start using Lidl Connect right away.
During registration, we will automatically check if your device supports eSIM. This way, you will know right away whether your phone is compatible.
If you would like to check the compatibility of a different phone, you can verify if it supports adding an eSIM in your settings. Please find example guidance on how to do this in the links below.
Instructions iPhone 16
Instructions Samsung Galaxy S24
With Lidl Connect, you can set up and activate an eSIM directly through the Lidl Plus app.
Getting an eSIM is quick and convenient to get started. Once activated, the eSIM works just like a physical SIM - allowing you to make calls, send SMS, and use mobile data.
The eSIM is free of charge with Lidl Connect. There are no set-up fees or additional costs for choosing an eSIM instead of a physical SIM.
Once you completed the registration for Lidl Connect we will guide you through the installation steps for your eSIM in the Lidl Plus app.

No. Lidl Connect eSIMs cannot currently be used directly in smartwatches. Smartwatches that offer cellular connectivity (such as LTE or “cellular” models) usually require a dedicated wearable plan or number sharing service, which Lidl Connect does not offer at this time. You can still use your smartwatch when it is connected to your phone via Bluetooth, but the watch cannot connect to the Lidl Connect mobile network independently.

Your PIN is a 4–8 digit code that protects your SIM card. You usually enter it when you turn on your phone or insert the SIM into a new device. If you enter the wrong PIN 3 times, your SIM gets locked and you will need your PUK to unlock it.
You can find your PUK directly in your Lidl Plus app. Head to Lidl Connect and select the line you would like to view the PUK code for. You find the PUK code tile right at the top.
For a physical SIM, you can also find your PUK printed on the plastic cutout of your packaging.
With Lidl Connect, your PIN is set to inactive by default and set to '0000'. You can activate your PIN in your phone settings should you choose to do so.

Yes. If you are in an area where 5G is not available, your phone will automatically switch to 4G.
Lidl Connect no longer supports 3G services, as 3G technology has been phased out to allow for continued investment in faster and more reliable 4G and 5G networks. If 4G or 5G coverage is unavailable, voice calls and text messages can still be carried over the 2G network, where available.
For information on network coverage and local bandwidth, visit https://www.eir.ie/ourmobilenetwork/. Your actual bandwidth depends on factors such as your location, your device, and the number of simultaneous users in your cell. You can check your internet connection speed using a publicly available speed test tool.
