What is a Gift Card?

Gift Cards are electronic vouchers. The Gift Card balance is not stored on the physical card, but on a non-personalised Gift Card account associated with the individual card. Gift Card numbers act as the "account number".

Is personal data stored on the Gift Card?

No personal data will be stored on the Gift Card.

Can my Gift Card be topped up?

No. A top up is not possible. When the value of the card has been used it should be disposed of.

How long is the Gift Card valid for?

The Gift Card is valid for 5 years or until the value of the card has been redeemed.

How much credit is on my Gift Card?

The current balance of your Gift Card will be displayed on your last receipt. You can also see your balance at the checkout in any LIDL store or online at www.lidl.ie/giftcard

What happens to the remaining balance, if I do not spend the entire value of the Gift Card?

The remaining balance will stay on your LIDL Gift Card for the validity period of the Gift Card. The balance cannot be redeemed for cash.

I have lost my Gift Card, my Gift Card has been stolen; can I have the card blocked and/or replaced?

Treat your card like cash. In case of loss, theft or misuse of the Gift Card, LIDL is not obliged to replace it. We will issue a new card if possible, as your Gift Card can be blocked before it is used for the first time. For this, the Gift Card number and the PIN will be required. If you have lost your Community Gift Card Number, please call our Community Gift Card team on 1800 111 124 .

Where can I use my Gift Card?

The Gift Card can be used as payment in all Lidl Stores in the Republic of Ireland.

Is the Gift Card valid in other countries?

Unfortunately, no cross-country acceptance of the Gift Cards is possible.

How do I use the Gift Card?

Gift Cards can be used as payment in all Lidl Stores in the Republic of Ireland. To pay just present your Gift Card or Community Gift Card Number at the till.

Can I use more than one gift card per transaction?

Yes. You can pay for your purchase at any time with one or more Gift Cards.

I would like to receive the Gift Card balance paid out.

The remaining balance will stay on your LIDL Gift Card. A cash payment is not possible. The Gift Card is valid for 5 years after the initial activation.

My purchase is for a higher value than my Gift Card. Can I pay the balance by cash or card?

Yes. If the Gift Card balance is insufficient to fully pay for the purchase, you can pay the balance by cash or card.

When I wanted to use the Gift Card, there was no credit on it. I'm sure my card balance is wrong!

Can I transfer money on the Gift card?

It is not possible to transfer money on to the Gift Card. The Gift Card may only be used as payment in Lidl stores.
