In the following we would like to inform you in detail in accordance with article 13 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO) about the processing of your personal data in the context of the processing of your inquiries by the Lidl Customer Service.
Responsible person in the sense of article 4 number 7 GDPR is the Customer Service Department, Lidl Ireland, Main Road, Tallaght, Dublin 24. If necessary, you can reach Customer Service by telephone at 1800 20 10 80 or by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org
Personal information that you provide us with when filling out contact forms, by telephone or by e-mail or via social media is, of course, treated confidentially. We use your data solely for the purpose of responding to your customer request. In order to identify you as a customer or to process your request, we may use data from your customer accounts at Lidl. The legal basis for processing their data is Article 6 (1) (f) of the GDPR. The legitimate interest in the processing of your data by Lidl arises from the interest to answer your request and thus to maintain customer satisfaction and promote.
We generally exclude the transfer of data to third parties outside of Lidl. By way of exception, data will be processed by service providers carefully selected by us who work on our behalf. These are each carefully selected and contracted by us under Article 28 GDPR.
Furthermore, it may be necessary for us to forward extracts of your request to contract partners (eg suppliers for product-specific inquiries) in order to process your request. In these cases, however, the request will be anonymised beforehand, so that the third party cannot make any connection to you. If, in individual cases, the disclosure of your personal information should be required, we will inform you about this in advance and obtain your consent.
All personal information that you send to us for inquiries (suggestion, praise or criticism) will be deleted by us no later than 30 days after the final response to you, or securely anonymised. The retention period of 30 days is explained by the fact that it may happen occasionally that you contact us as a customer after an answer to the same thing again and then we must be able to refer to the pre-correspondence. Experience has shown that usually after 30 days queries about our answers no longer occur. Occasionally it may happen that for legal reasons (eg in insurance cases) we need to store your personal details longer. In these cases, we do not save your information longer than the statutory retention requirements require us.
According to the DSGVO , you as the data subject also have the following general rights:
• Under Article 15 (1) of the GDPR, you have the right, upon request, to obtain information free of charge about the personal data stored by Lidl concerning your person.
• In addition, if the legal prerequisites exist, you are entitled to a correction (Art. 16 DSGVO), cancellation (Art. 17 DSGVO) and limitation of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) of your personal data.
• If the data processing is based on Article 6 (1) (e) or (f) GDPR, you are entitled to a right of objection under Art. 21 GDPR. As far as you disagree with a data processing, this will be omitted in the future, unless, Lidl can prove compelling legitimate reasons for further processing, which outweigh the interest of the person concerned in the contradiction.
• If you have provided the processed data yourself, you are entitled to transfer data according to Art. 20 DSGVO.
Insofar as the data processing is based on a consent pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (a) or Art. 9 (2) (a) GDPR, you can revoke the consent at any time with future effect, without affecting the legality of the previous processing.
Please contact the data protection officer in the cases mentioned above, in case of open questions or in case of complaints, in writing or by e-mail.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. Responsible is the data protection supervisory authority of the federal state, in which you live or in which the person responsible has its seat.
