Why Lidl are supporting the 20x20 vision

Through our sponsorship of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association and support for women’s sport in general, we have seen first-hand the barriers that exist for women in a sporting landscape dominated by male sport. The 20x20 campaign aims to create a cultural shift in how women’s sport is perceived throughout the country by reaching three specific targets;

  • 20% more media coverage of women in sport
  • 20% more female participation in all levels of sport including coaching and administration
  • 20% more attendance at women’s games and events

20×20 is about creating a more inclusive, healthier Ireland and we are proud to be a part of such a worthwhile campaign because If She Can’t See It, She Can’t Be It. We want women of all ages to “Be It” so Lidl Moves is here to help anyone who wants to be more physically active. Have a look at our chapter launch film for some inspiration.

Finding it hard to choose the right form of exercise or set a realistic goal to aim for? Complete our physical activity questionnaire that will get to the root of how you like to move with the aim of providing you with a starting point on the road to a new exercise habit.

Activities & Resources

All of the activities and goals suggested in the questionnaire are available to review in the Activities & Resources section and can and should be used to help build your 20 day plan whatever way you want. We have consulted and worked with national sporting bodies, qualified instructors and a host of elite level sporting ambassadors to ensure you are provided with the best help and support available.

Meet our team of ambassadors who are here to support you throughout the Lidl Moves programme. The elite athlete trio of Sarah Rowe, Ciara Mageean and Katie Mullan will use all their experience and knowledge to offer insights and advice into how to make your new routine a long term habit. Lidl brand ambassadors Aoibhín Garrihy and Caitríona Redmond are committing themselves to taking part in the 3 week programme and we will follow their experiences and observations over the period on the Lidl and ambassadors' own social media channels.
